Meet Steve Bass

Steve Bass is a 1976 graduate of Dickson County High School in Dickson Tennessee. After graduation, Steve left his grocery store job to go to work for the Dickson Farmers CO-OP. The first day on the job at the CO-OP, Steve was assigned to the tire shop, and his tire career was born. In 1977, Steve went to work for Universal Tire in Nashville as a retail tire salesman. In 1978 he was assigned his first retail store on Nolensville Road, just shy of his 20th birthday. By 1986 Steve managed the Nashville Retail Branch stores for Universal Tire.
Steve and Kim with the help of an investor, (Marvin Fly), opened Bass Tire in 1988. Steve’s first Bass Tire building was an old radiator shop at the corner of Morton Ave. and Nolensville Road. His next and current building is next door to Grassmere Zoo. Including his years with Universal Tire, Steve has served the Nolensville Road community for over 46 years.

Steve married Kim Sills from Salem KY. They have two children Charlie and Brad. They have two grandchildren Langley and Luke.
Our General Manager Aaron Lane came to work for Bass Tire as a general service technician in 1994. He was promoted to customer service in 2000, and in 2015 became the General Manager.
Steve has served on several boards in Nashville and continues to give back to the community through Bass Foundation for Charities. Steve and Kim founded the giving foundation in 2014, which has given scholarships and donates to many local charities. Steve and Kim are members of Judson Baptist Church.
Steve and Kim’s mission for Bass Tire has always been and continues to be, is to provide fair and honest tire and automobile service where customers feel welcome and well treated, offering the very best quality tires and automotive service. It is important for us to provide a great work environment for our hard-working staff, and help each one to have a happy, healthy, and better life. We are in the people business.
